Café Papillon Balzan

Our flagship cafeteria is situated in Birbal Street, Balzan and reopened its doors in December 2008 after being rebuilt as part of our residential complex, Papillon Court. The cafeteria has a modern design blended in with features from the past such as the chandeliers that light up the place. The design for the café is the work of Italian designer Piero Ferrari of Linea Legno, who also boasts other prestigious locations on the island and all of the interior furniture and fittings were designed and made specifically for us in Italy and brought overland to be installed here. In this way we have ensured that the Café design is modern and unique to the island for that quick coffee and a snack at lunch or a relaxed drink with friends on a cold Winter’s evening.

The cafeteria also blends the new with the old in its menu that offers traditional food items such as pastizzi and modern items such as herb flavoured ciabattas and home made semifreddos. Our menu can be viewed here. The café also boasts a unique way of offering the best wines for your pleasure whilst enjoying a bite to eat. Customers can choose any bottle of wine available for take away to be enjoyed at the table with a flat rate price depending on whether it’s a full bottle or a half bottle in order to give our customers a choice of wines parallel to any restaurant on the island. Apart from being a café we also offer a large selection of items that can be taken home such as wines, bread, basic groceries such as milk, our own selection of Belgian chocolates, our freshly made cream and ricotta pastries, gateaux and much more.

Seating is available inside and outside to suit everybody’s needs and we are more than happy to serve you and show you what our food is all about.
